Cathrine Axfors, MD PhD Research Fellow

Cathrine Axfors is a medical doctor and researcher in clinical epidemiology, with a PhD in medicine (psychiatry) from Uppsala University, Sweden. She obtained her Swedish MD license at Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden, after a 1.5-year clinical internship. Between 2019-2023, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Meta-research Innovation Center at Stanford (METRICS), Stanford University, focusing on meta-research, evidence synthesis, clinical epidemiology, and research rigor and reproducibility (R&R). At RC2NB, Cathrine is involved in projects developing digital biomarkers for multiple sclerosis and evaluating the suitability of registries and cohorts to host nested randomized clinical trials.
